Description
Deefeet Bar Therapy (Ashiatsu) is an ancient art of massage from Asia, which combines elements of traditional Thai massage, barefoot Shiatsu massage from Japan, and Keralite massage from southern India. “Ashi” means foot and “Atsu” means pressure.
The one and two-footed strokes distribute pressure evenly over a large area of the body with deep, gliding compression effleurage, while using the power of the legs and the weight of the body. The therapist uses overhead bars for balance and to hold weight off the client’s body when appropriate.
This type of massage is highly effective for large athletes, individuals with thick musculature, and people who enjoy deep tissue massage. It improves posture, relieves chronic pain, reduces inflammation, increases lymphatic flow, and stimulates overall health and well-being.
